When blogs collide!
Last night the blogging pair of Amanda and Julian of A Tuscan View – from Umbria were here for supper. It was the most amazing thing. Because I have been reading their posts since day one I felt like I really knew them! Not like I found them a bit familiar, but as familiar as the other guests, most of whom I have known for years. Those were Shell from Texas and Umbria and Tina who is my neighbor. Katherine also from Texas came along with Shelly, and by this morning I knew her too. Carrying cups of coffee to people in bed is its own sort of introduction.
We ate a new meat recipe that I will shortly publish here, a very interesting rice dish from Piemonte called Turta, and lemon rice, which Tina assures me is NOT Italian. Which is OK because everyone liked it anyway. For dessert I made an American sweet which you will see when it is my turn to provide la buona cucina americana.
It sounded sort of nuts to many for me to offer open house for these winter suppers to blog readers, but I am finding it more fun than a trailer full of monkeys! And that’s a lot more than a barrel.
Oh what fun! Wish I’d been there.
All of those Texans… fun and in trailers, too. Who knew? ;-)
I bet you two would be at least a couple of monkeys’ worth.
Good food and good fun, we enjoyed every minute. If we\\\\\\\’d have known you were doing bed and breakfast we\\\\\\\’d have stayed the night!
Thank you so much for a super supper Judith.
A presto!
