Weather … or not

Hot and humid days all of a sudden, with intermittent cloudiness and one real rain. How can one get the clothes dry?

Still experimenting and what I ate last night was strictly because it was healthy, because the combination I thought would be so good was a mis-mate. It was also, unfortunately, something no self-respecting cat would touch, even had it been delicious.

On the other hand, there’s a sauce for grains that so far makes me slurp every time. Two more trials and it will appear here.

Speaking of grains, I’ve purchased a bag of farro. Suggestions on how to deal with it are welcome!

Coming right up. My favorietis just soakedthen cooed,ad some minced onion and an herb then lemon juice and oil, but the sauce I am working on tastes fabulous with farro. Now Iam working out brown rice and barley.

it was ninety degrees in chicago yesterday. can you believe that? i cooked dinner last night, all by me little self. it was very out of body experience. jon was on the computer, i was starving, he was not hungry at all. some how or another, and i am not sure i was present for all of it, i churned out a delicious roasted butternut squash, marinated zucchini pasta. crazy.

Another heroine, for sure. eg said it was mid eighties in Washington, too. Maybe it’s time to search back into July for no-heat eating? Not here, though. Brisk wind, tolerable temps — for a change.
