What are your favorite clothes?

August 24th, 2007

I want to do a visual piece on people’s favorite clothes. I think we all have one or more pieces that we turn to when we aren’t sure, just because we know we feel good in them or look good in them. What are yours?

Here’s what I want you to do. Photograph something that serves you well, that you use over and over and that you trust. You can model it or shoot it on a hanger or lying on the bed. Email the photo to me at decobabe@googlemail.com. In a month or so I’ll write up an article about the clothing I’ve seen and post some of the photos. Tell me why you like what you send me. Please title the emails “My favorite” so I’ll know what to open — you know we’re all paranoid about unknown attachments these days. Tell me if it is OK to identify you in your email. This includes eg!

I think it’s time to get real about what people really wear, don’t you?

Ooooo, I wanna play. For me it\’s sweats in the winter and boxers in summer. Oh, that\’s not what you meant. You mean for the world. ok, it\’s jeans. Jeans, boots or heels or flipflops and a tee or turtelneck (any material) e basta. I do have a fav pair of black stretch wool pants that are about 15 yrs old. They survive still.
THose things are in storage for the summer. October is good?

If jeans are your favorite presentation of Karen, then have V take a photo of you (head, no head your decision) and email it. I think a lot of people feel the same, unless they work or have to do a fancier presentation sometimes.

I’m sort of looking for what you choose that makes you feel confident and well-dressed. For a lot of us that is jeans. But jeans don’t look like anything until they are on someone.

Then explain why that’s your confidence clothing. Short is fine.

I’ll have to give it some thought, but I’m sure I can pull a few things out of my closet. Peter even bought me a little black dress with a white print I was admiring in a store window the other that may become a useful favourite very soon. I just need some nice shoes to go with it and it definitely deserves seamed stockings.

    What a great idea!

For me it\’s A-line or wraparound skirts with t-shirts (or shells/blouses for work) and sandals all summer. I also love dresses but they are hard to find I have weird top-heavy proportions. For winter - jeans and t-shirts/sweaters on weekends and either wool trousers or skirts with boots and sweaters or button down shirts for work.

And winter or summer, I almost always wear one item of cheapo jewellery to spice things up - usually a necklace or earrings. Today I\’m wearing a wooden necklace I got at H&M for 2 euro.

    I guess wearing my \

Ahhh! Well I am collecting photos of people’s favorite clothes and will publish the article sometime in October.

Several people have answered in the comments already.

Is this for learning English? From what mother tongue?
