One of those days?

If you’ve the figure for it, wear this.

Again, the Telegraph UK delivers all the new graduating class designs. This is Essex.

The jeans are a little bit too low cut for me.

Just ridiculous. Who do these designers believe they\’re designing FOR?
3. Judith | June 5th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
Publicity, publicity!
4. Jane | June 5th, 2007 at 10:54 pm
I\’d hide my head, too.

Did any of you look at the rest of the graduate collections? They are wild! Not to say that there aren’t also some pretty clothes as well, but overwhelmingly, the clothes are meant to get attention from potential employers, which makes sense to me.

I suppose they are using the body as an artform and do not expect some of the clothes to be worn.
The image you added makes me think the old saying:
I haven’t anything to wear!
In which in this case it is true.

Or it proves the idea in some cultures that you can show anything if no one knows who you are. Sort of a veiled stripper or a Muslim Lindsey Lohan.

The first thing that popped into my head was “They are all okay if you put a bag over their head.” Sort of like the girls get prettier at closing time.

Actually, you kow what? I like that piece.
I am sad that the bikini top distracts from it. Although I guess bare breasts would do so, too.

Jke, it is great to see you, but probably not quite that much of you. All the collections have seeds of something very interesting, it\’s just hard to find an application for a beautiful dress, for example, in which your right arm is fastened to your head!
The ones that look the most like clothes as we know them look like someone rolled out of bed– mostly men\’s wear.

Designing for publicity or to tempt a potential employer confirms my belief that the fashion indutry is IRRELEVANT.
12. Judith | June 7th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
If it were irrelevant completely, we’d all be wearing animal skins, surely? You look pretty sharp to me! No skins and no cinghiale booties.

Hello Judith,
You haven\’t seen much of me lately because
1. I tend to cover up more than this model
2. I\’ve been away from the newsgrousp nevause my news server account expired. I didn’t renew it, because I’m in the final stages of my final paper so as to graduate etc. I am trying to not distract myself too much, as I would when I partcipated in food talk :)
I do lurk and think I might return to Usenet (and hopefully Paris) in fall.
Very sorry to hear what you and your cat are going through. It does sound like your taking excellent care of her.
Meanwhile I have found a new distraction: RSS…

Um….no! Clothes are one thing, and fashion, increasing, is quite another with little bearing on the former. Animal skins would be far far better than this fabric DROSS.
