I'm glad you were able to make a good chili powder. Whew! haha
Interesting to hear how your friends liked the chili mac. Also interesting about naming dishes. I have this problem when I post some of my home cooking on my blog. What to call it? I dunno. It is what it is! Sometimes I rather not post than name it haha. Love that last paragraph in your post. So true :)

Judith, you know I am loving this. We all are. Halloween we spent with daughter, Jo Tom, and passed factory wrapped, store-bought candy to a constant stream of ghost and goblins. And guess what JoTom served for supper. The chili a bit different but with atmosphere exactly as you described. All my clan vow to try your chili version within the coming week. You never cease delight so many.

Wow, this is a real feel good morning! My blog friends get included, too. Although we may not be in a garage eating apple cake, I look forward everyday to seeing who talked back.

I shall look forward to hearing how this expatriate chili went over in Mississippi. You know, this is just what you can make from what you can get plus what you've been lucky enough to be given. Without your MS girls, it wouldn't have been possible at all.
