That one Marc by Marc Jacobs seriously looks like an air hostess. But you could work the look a little.

Tomorrow the horrors, mostly by the same designers.

I like the red dress, very nice. Not sure about the rest, but interesting to look at nonetheless.

Regarding your boot post, I have to say that Chanel boot is lovely to look at, but with my monster calves and short legs, it would never fit or simply look ridiculous. Then again, I usually go with short boots for that reason — somewhat like you. Not sure I could pull off gaiters here in North America, but they certainly are in a class of their own.

You, of all people, should try gaiters for hiking. You can actually buy much cheaper ones for 30 to 40 euro made of saddle type leather. Zip them over your jeans and thorns and snakes are rendered innocuous. Max Weber has a measuring chart which I may scan and publish here, that allows you to order the correct size. You measure from the floor to the back of your bended knee, circumference just under the knee, the largets circ. of the calf and the ankle. They are not one size fits all, but come in sizes like shoes– 6B, 6C, etc. Originally designed for riders, and riders come in all heights and sizes. They also have elasic inserts so they can be worn over different pants and socks.

Of all the clothes above, I could maybe wear the first one, the gray shirtdress and the green one. I can like things I can’t wear, I just need to be sure I don’t convince myself I can wear something like that little feathery strapless number. Key yoot.
