Thanks everybody for your kind thoughts.
My mother was a dedicated cook and preserver, known around our state as the best….. fill in the blanks. So yes, a lot of my life was affected by seeing the pleasure she took in creative things and her success at pursuing them. I think I will write about that sometime, but for now, I’m going to try to pull up my socks and find the me I grew up to be and let her write some blog posts.

Judith, I’m so sorry for your loss and for being so late in extending my condolences.
I’ll add my very sincere condolences to those already sent you. I don’t think we ever stop missing our mothers – and from your photo and your brief words it sounds like you have a lot to miss. But you will always have her with you, and I hope those memories will bring you joy when the initial pain diminishes. She must have had a very full life – it was certainly long!
