My mother ate the pie and said it was very good. She then asked me why I would go to all the trouble of cooking fresh pumpkin when the can mix was so available....

					<description>Expats here will often walk past shelves full of squash or pumpkin and ask, "Where can you buy pumpkin in a can?"  I have nothing against it at all, because otherwise the season for these would be short, but how have we forgotten that fresh is good and not all that much trouble?

My British foodies are complaining about their January tomatoes being pallid and tasteless.  I think there is no such thing in most northern countries as a January tomato.</description>

					<description>Frantic Fanny, my daughter did a pass through Saturday evening and we had a light supper at a new restaurant.  The owner is from here, studied elsewhere and returned to open her own  "Bakery"  with meals.  Her fresh only has surpassed  all expectations.  We enjoyed the veggie (I dislike cuties words) pizza of spinach, goat cheese, toasted walnuts with fresh sliced tomatoes and I think other stuff.  Frances said she shuttered at the word pizza as she hasn't been brave enough to eat what we call pizza since her return.  She is having difficulty with substitute stuff we call food.  We sent you a soul food professional and you return a snob!</description>
