Coming Soon

I have bought a domain and I am building a website. It’s not happening very quickly, and there’s nothing to see yet, but soon!

I am very grateful for Cristina hosting my blog on Expats In Italy, in space she pays for, but when you want to expand into lots of things, it isn’t fair to let someone else pay.

I’ll certainly announce anything that is about to happen, and I am hoping to leave a forwarding chiclet here, but it is not at all ready now. I sincerely hope that anyone who comes here now will come to the new site. My life includes you all now.

Like the idiot I sometimes am, I went to the URL even though you said that it isn’t ready yet. What are you up to?

This and that. The cooking lesson will be a school with two Italiane and I am starting a service to help people get made to measure clothes, and the blog of course.
Have you read any of the “blob” of the 107 year old Australian? I sometimes see that as my future. Always a blobber as the magazines disappear one by one.

Of course it’s cold….and rainy….and windy….our guests are arriving in 2 day…maybe to snow!!!

As for the new site, I’m interested in the process of buying a domain and setting up a website…does it take lots of technical knowledge…or just money?

May I advise putting a single ‘under construction’ index page on the new site? Having no index page means that a directory listing is shown and any/all files can be downloaded by the visitor! Maybe, you’re more careful than me, I sometimes use webspace to back up data from my PC; data which is confidential!

Thank you all, and Malcolm, if I knew how to do that the site would be up, although imperfect. It is done except for linking and tuning. I never even thought of backing up to my own site. Sounds brilliant.
