The third tasting supper, November 7
Blog reader known as jke was here last night for the third supper and it was really fun! There were three guest chefs here, one of who is a pastry chef. She made our salad, which recipe I will give you if she lets me have it.
We had a sort of not very Italian meal consisting of four pastas which will end up here, Dana’s salad, then baklava for dessert. I ate the salad!
So, to come:
Tagliatelle alla Biellese
Pappardelle al ragù d’anatra (voted favorite of my italiana friend, Tina)
Pappardelle ai funghi
Tagliatelle con sugo di maiale (voted favorite of jke)
Baklava
and maybe that salad!

Am I really to believe that only the salad passed your lips?! Surely you must have a will of iron in the face of all that temptation or were the other diners restraining you!

One sat on my head while the others tied my feet to the divan legs.
Judith, how yummy! You should have sampled them all. I’ve been wondering how you are doing with the non smoking. Did you quit for good?
@Jane:
I think I did. It’s been 10 months and over 20 pounds since I smoked anything.
Hi Judith!
It was fun, indeed! I enjoyed both the company and the food. To have so many people in one room who enjoy talking about food was a first, and great fun. Your hospitality is wonderful, I appreciate it very much.
Now I am in Berlin, where I shall be cooking for 8 tomorrow. Pasta it will be. The sauces: puttanesca and a butterless version of you Piemontese cheese sauce.
@Jke:
I can’t believe you said that. What would it be without butter, which is the greatest in size of all the ingredients? Hmmmph!
Ok, ok, I´ll add just a little butter!
Judith–that is such good news about the smoking–but the weight is a drag–as I so well know. But, I wouldn\’t go back to smoking for anything in the world. Congratulations!!
Jane, you saw the all-new-no-smoking-fat-me at Bevagna!
