Picnic Foods series

Whether it is wandering into the woods with a sandwich in your pocket or carrying a hamper into a meadow, filled with cold meats and colder champagne, we are in the season of picnics. I include backyard suppers, feeding the kids next to a wading pool and potluck get togethers in the picnic category, as long as they are eaten away from the kitchen and dining room.

I love picnics, both the idea and the execution. I’m going to run a short series on food for picnics over the next weeks, because picnic season runs right into November in Italy. Some of the foods will be Italian and some will not. All will be portable to some extent. I mean, you don’t need the same degree of poratbility for a food you will carry to the terrace outside your house as you need for food carried into the wilderness on a mountain hike, do you?

If you can’t wait to get started, use the search box here and enter picnic. I’ve already categorized some recipes from back along. Right now you must excuse me because I have to make potato salads for a big picnic on Sunday.
Due to a glitch, this from yesterday got sent to drafts instead of published, sorry.
If I can find a meadow filled with champers, I’ll never leave!
Guess what? I turned my computer on and it went POP! kckckckc and blew the whole house out. Shop opened this morning and one new power supply later here I am saying, “I noticed that and thought, no one else will read it that way.” Hah.
