Forging ahead
I am today thinking about lots of things.
First, maybe it was a good thing after all to quit smoking, even though it has made me fat.
Second, there are people older than I who do really stupid things that make even me look clever.
Third, some people have chosen husbands even less wisely than I did.
It’s been a great year. We elected a President I wanted and I have grown to lurve him and Michelle, too. I’ve had some really great work so far and I am teaching this evening, which if anyone had asked what I wanted for my birthday I would have said, “work.” I visited friends and family in the US and ate crab three times. I had visitors from many countries and enjoyed the company a great deal. My two old girlfriends are talking about coming to visit and traipse around this autumn.
I got a card in the mail yesterday featuring pugs, my favorite dog. I would love to borrow a pug, but all I got was the card.
Anyway, have a happy day today for me. I don’t know when Art and I will celebrate our shared sagra, but we have 11 days to make it equally shared. Spare a thought for Jess, who is popping pregnant and will introduce us to the bimbo shortly.
Happy birthday, folks!
If today is your birthday, then many, many happy returns (which sounds like a shopping oxymoron, but remains, nonetheless, in the vernacular). Happy, happy day to you, Judith.
Thanks for sharing your birthday wisdom with your readers! I want some of that salt/herb mixture. :)
Hope you had a fantastic birthday!
@alison: how come you don’t make stuff like that when the good stuff is available. Last year you had an excuse– not now.
@mary: I did, I did. I thought I was doing lessons for Brits and it turned out to be 1 Brit, 4 Swedes and one Finn. Were they gorgeous? You bet. I appreciate young people and soon won’t feel like throwing wrinkle powder on them.
Glad you got your birthday wish! As for the birthday celebration, right now it’s too hot for me to think about cooking ANYTHING – perhaps a lunch of melon and prosciutto, followed by watermelon with a candle in ti??
.-= Barbara´s last blog ..DINNER AT OLIVASTRELLA =-.
Or a discoteca for Art and me and you can stay home withthe fan???? You old ones are hard to budge!
I tried putting a pug in the envelope but he kept wiggling out….
