Christmas cooking 2008
Here’s by me. How about you?
It's one of the different pieces of Umbrian ceramics I am giving, but empty it looked unfriendly. I am making Palline di Cocco so it looks warmer, like my wishes. The photo is in full cry cookery, not staged and polished up, so lay off the sneers!
I love these. It is really a challenge not to eat even one while making them. I'm making about 76! Owwww.
It's a black day, streaming with rain, so cookery is the very thing to do. I'm now about to start some cherry pecan breads and that smell will finish me off. Once it's over, though, it will be over for another year. I could build a fire and read a book, but cooking and wrapping takes a lot more calories. Here's to slimming. Only four more months to go.
The food looked delicious, but when I clicked on the link it was broken: could you relink?
The ceramic looks nice too;)
It’s got two http://s so I can easily fix that.
Those ceramic pieces are beautiful! You made me laugh with your comment, but yes, that is the way I like it, simple.
I’m not making cookies this year – I just don’t have time. Ot’s good though, less temptation.
OK, I’m typing one-handed ’cause someone’s sleeping on my shoulder. I meant,It’s good…
@Mary:
I never make them. I am famous for it. Thoe palline di Cocco are not cookies, they are heaven. I put some likker in the chocolate ganaches on the plate and plop a couple of these on top and people eat them like they may never see them again. Even after stuffing themselves with 5 courses!
@Mary:
I remember that. No computer, though.
Mmmm and so pretty. A lovely holiday scene that would’ve been ruined by my hand sneaking in to steal palline. Yes, that’s plural.
@michelle of bleeding espresso:
Just this morning I looked at the map and thought, “What a shame Abruzzo and Calabria are so far away!” This house reeks now of yeast, butter and sugar. It’s just disgraceful. 16 loaves of fruit and nut yeast breads in two days…Tomorrow dough will be ready for rolled up Italian bread with spicy olives– and I could add extra chilis for you suthriners. Ahhh, well, Umbrians like all this stuff, too.
You know I love those coconut balls! Yum.
I would bake for ppl like you do but I don’t have the willpower not to eat as I go. Better to hold off!
@Cherrye at My Bella Vita:
Then I guess it isn’t a shame that Calabria is so far away!
Anyway, starting a series on things not sweet.
